If you are a student at Temple University, you have probably run into Meghan Hill at some point or another. Meghan is an Owl Team orientation leader, President of Temple’s Panhellenic Council, and a writer for The Odyssey at Temple, just to name a few things. Between all of this, Meghan is studying Public Relations and minoring in Theater. Did I mention she is only a sophomore? Meghan has become quite the campus celebrity in her short two years at Temple and is one of the most recognizable faces on campus. Although her schedule is always packed, Meghan always makes some time to listen to music. Meghan sat down with Trebel  and shared what songs she listens to that keeps this busy woman on top of her game.

1. “Say My Name” by ODESZA

Meghan: “This is always one of the first songs I play when I wake up to start my day. This summer during orientation, ‘Say My Name’ was always played in the early mornings. So it brings back great memories of my Owl Team.”

2. “Someone New” by Hozier

Meghan: “I love to listen to Hozier after a long day. This is a really great song to mellow out to after I’ve been running around all day, it helps me unwind. His voice just kind of chills me out.”

3. “Sorry” by Justin Bieber

Meghan: “This is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. I’m not even a big fan of Bieber, but this song reminds me of my sisters in my sorority, Alpha Xi Delta. So it always puts a smile on my face.”

4. “Beautiful” by Carole King

Meghan: “I just love Carole King. So much so, that I auditioned for a musical about her in New York City. This is my favorite song by her, and my favorite one to sing myself.”

5. “Love on Top” by Beyonce

Meghan: “Beyonce is who I always have playing in my headphones when I’m on the go. ‘Love on Top’ specifically just keeps me moving throughout the day. No one does it better than Queen B.”

6. “Gimme Gimme” from Thoroughly Modern Millie

Meghan: “Theater will always hold a special place in my heart, it’s where I got my initial love for music. My first lead roll was in this play, and I still like to belt out this song every now and then.”

7. “Work” by Rihanna

Meghan: “Whenever I actually get the chance to go out with my friends, ‘Work’ is the recent favorite. How could it not be?”

8. “Ultralight Beam” by Kanye West

Meghan: “This is definitely my outlier song. As hard as it is to admit… I secretly like Kanye. And especially this song. The gospel choirs singing is the best part.”

For a busy girl that is involved in a little bit of everything, her music taste reflects that. From show tunes to Kanye, Meghan Hill enjoys a diverse library of songs but each suit her personality in different ways. To keep up with Meghan you can visit her author page for The Odyssey, or just keep your eyes peeled on campus because she’s impossible to miss!
