A Young Money Reunion May Be In The Works

By  |

So far, the narrative of 2017 has been about all about collaboration and in Young Money’s case, reconciliation. After what feels like years of tension and possible rumors as to what’s actually happening in Young Money’s camp, things are looking to culminate in a joint effort of sorts very soon. Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne sent the internet into a frenzy after a photo was posted on Drake’s Instagram account of the dynamic trio in the studio together, simply titling it “Big 3.”

The photo was enough to fuel the rumor mill with possible collaborations on the way, but Drake took it a step further during his London stop on his Boy Meets World Tour and confirmed that a reunion is definitely in the works. He says:

“I just got off the phone with Nicki and she told me to tell y’all, ‘Hello.’ We might have to do something special. We might have to do some Young Money reunion sh– out here this summer. I might have to bring all my friends from America, all my friends from Canada, the whole OVO.”

The Young Money reconciliation comes on the heels of Nicki Minaj’s very public split with Drake’s arch nemesis Meek Mill. While there’s no confirmation on what sparked the reconciliation, signs point to the ending of Nicki’s relationship with Meek to be a factor. This is good news for Young Money fans as the last collaboration with all 3 artists was on “Only” apart of Nicki Minaj’s album Pink Print back in 2014.

Drake is currently overseas on his Boy Meets World Tour and is currently prepping the release of his More Life playlist. Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is recording The Pinkprint follow-up and Wayne has approximately five projects to release this year, including Tha Carter V.
